RE: hopefully labor day goes as planned

Good Job redwake, but I just gotta ask -- which NatPk??? CG??? If it is in the mountains you were lucky -- every one is trying to get out of this valley heat. And a 3 dayer to boot.

RE: Awning rail on 99 Itasca - Wrong spot??

2oo7 Itasca factory A&E -- have been outside staring at it for about 20 min trying to figure out problem as stated above. Of course awning is rolled up so can't see a lot. Awning rail (both sides) just about(2"below) where roof rolls over and becoms wall.(If you put heel of hand on rail fingers would fit over top curve - about like holding soda can) Nothing above or below rail. Upper arm attachments/brackts abut bottom edge of rail. Cannot picture the rail being 'on the curve'. Do you have another dealer in area for 2nd opinion???. Sorry cannot be of any help. GoodLuck

RE: hopefully labor day goes as planned

Most NatPk reservs are NOT site specific. Usually the earlier you get there the better your chances are. Often I go up(Seq/KingCyn) mid-week in itty-bitty tent to snag a space and Motorhome comes up Friday.

RE: We've Been Robbed!

Hope you get all of your 'stuff' back BUT something really seems WRONG. Inventing a new VIN# that works seems nigh unto impossible. Many years ago my aunt purchased an older used TT to live in(from dealer in town)on my property. Found out after it was 'home' and set-up there was a confusion with the VIN# - someone had welded a new tongue on it - so now it had 2 #'s. These were BIG DEEP #'s cast into the metal - not engraved.(Had about 8 CHP cars in the drive way before they figured it out - all was o.k.-bad paper trail) Seems that storage yard has some explaining to do - appears some one knew a lot about your rig, your code and all. Good Luck unravelling this one.

RE: Wal-Mart Inverter

Same as jharrelson to power my laptop when using as navigation tool( I'm not the driver) while travelling or while 'dry' camping. Cell phone and camera batteries have their own 12v chargers.

RE: Campground Electricity

Made a mistake using friend's elec hook-up "my parents use it all the time" Luckily only blew the breakers & fried the microwave. Have used plug-in SurgeGuard ever since. Use short cable around elec post and small 'eletricians lock-out' around SurgeGuard cable to keep it from being "borrowed" .

RE: Highway 46 to Cambria, CA

Last time we were in SanSimeonCG(19'classC) had very STEEP camp site. Took all the leveling apparatus we had & still not quite there. Hope you got 4 of the flatter ones. Great place, cool walk to the beach. Have Fun.

RE: GT Xpress

Dunks, says on pg.4 of booklet that came with mine pp.2 recommend seasoning cooking wells with cooking oils prior to use & occasionally thereafter. See also 3rd pp. Mine wipes clean with damp cloth(if sticky let damp cloth 'rest' on it a while) -- I do spray lightly with Pam and wipe with paper towel every 6-7 time. Also several of recipes call for 'oiling' first. GoodLuck with second try -- really love ours.

RE: Small Winnebago Class A's

Have Itasca Sunova 26' did NOT look far enough into CCC before we had 'adds' put on at factory not much CCC.(weighed it ready & full for trip were at less than 1 dog(40#) from being at MAX weight. Am still in process of lightening/downsizing our stuff. Ordered from factory and while we were waiting found lots of 'cool' stuff for it OOPS!!! Other than that and adding a Roadmaster front end stabilizer(fely a little light/squirrly) love it.

RE: What I learned on this last trip....added points in teal!

AMEN on #11 and even some of them are a little doubtful. Spend lots of time AzaleaCG - KingCynNatPk and am amazed at number of folks trying to get to GrantGrove( big trees -very short from village) on 'remembered' instructions. Sounds like you had a great time - we will be going back up in couple of weeks in PuP can hardly wait. Thanks for post.

RE: GT Xpress

LOVE MINE. Jiffy mixes work well - a little over-fill so come out a little heavy. Have used it more nites than not since I got it. Just get used to 2 BIG muffins instead of a 6pk. Seems like most of every thing I do takes 10 min 7-8 doesn't quite cut it. one for the S&B one for the MH.

RE: Lightbulbs

Shoot I dropped all the way to #89(5w - same base as above) for out of the way lighting fixtures. Originally had #1383 reflectorixed bulbs (20+_w) fixtures got so hot couldn't touch 'em. Didn't try to read by them anyway -- now add just a soft light but I like them a lot better. Can leave 'em on without worrying gonna catch the cabinets on fire.

RE: Help, Screensaver covers my map

Thanks to all of you for asking/answering a question I didn't even know I wanted to ask -- as navigator I don't have the safety issue -- but sometimes I forget to tap the 'mouse' and see photos of last trip instead of where I want to go on this one. Will try re-setting the time. THANKS AGAIN.
